AGM

2025 AGM

We invite and encourage all our members to attend our Annual General Meeting, to be held at 7.30 p.m. on Monday 17 March 2025.

At the AGM, we will provide an update on the activities of the Credit Union, and you will be able to meet and socialise with our directors and staff as well as with other members. We will have a presentation from the Mayor of Lewisham, Brenda Dacres. There will also be a chance to ask questions and provide feedback about the Credit Union and its services. We will provide food and drinks for all those who attend in person.

Please take a couple of minutes to read through this page, so you understand how to join the meeting and take part.

How the meeting will work this year

As last year, we will have a hybrid meeting, with members able to attend either:

(a)    in person at the Civic Suite, Lewisham Town Hall, Catford SE6 4RU; or

(b)    online via the Microsoft Teams video-conferencing platform.

Attending the meeting in person

If you wish to attend in person, you can simply come along on the day to the Civic Suite in Catford. Please bring a note of your member number. We will provide food and drinks for all those who attend. If you plan to attend in person, and to assist us with estimating the number of attendees and to ensure adequate catering, please complete our online registration form by clicking on the link below. However, if you are not able to do this, or even if you register to participate online, you can still attend in person if you wish.

The Civic Suite is five minutes’ walk from Catford and Catford Bridge train stations. You can also reach it via bus, including the following routes which stop nearby: 75, 124, 160, 171, 181, 185, 202, 284, 320 and 336.

Attending the meeting online via Microsoft Teams

If you wish to attend via Microsoft Teams, you need to register in advance using our online registration form by clicking on the link below, so that we can send you a secure link that will allow you to join the meeting. You will need to provide your full name, member number and email address. You will receive an acknowledgement immediately after submitting your details..

Once our AGM team have checked your details they will send you an email, with a link to join the meeting, and a calendar invitation so that you can add it to your online calendar or diary.

In order to join the meeting, you do not need to have the Microsoft Teams app installed on your smartphone or computer. You can simply choose the option to join via your web browser when you click on the link. If you have not used Teams before, you will need to allow Teams to access your camera and microphone; then type your name and click to join the meeting.

There is no cost to taking part.

Documents for the meeting

For those who attend in person, we will hand out the “AGM pack” of documents, comprising the AGM Agenda, the Annual Report for the 2023/24 financial year, and the minutes of the AGM held in 2024. We will also have available copies of the proposed new Rules showing the changes being made and the associated explanatory note. Participation in the meeting

Please be patient if there is a short delay while we ensure that all those who want to attend are admitted to the Microsoft Teams meeting room.

At the start of the AGM, we will run through how the hybrid (physical/virtual) AGM will work, and how we will take questions and organise voting on the various formal resolutions.

Questions

During the meeting, those attending online can submit questions at any time by entering their question in the “chat” function. We will be monitoring questions throughout the meeting, and we will either reply in the “chat” function, address your question orally during our Q&A session, or in some cases, respond afterwards.

All online attendees will be “muted” during the presentations.   At the end of the meeting, we will have an open Q&A session dedicated to answering members’ questions. Those attending via Microsoft Teams will be able to use the “raise hand” function if they wish to be unmuted in order to ask a question.

Voting on resolutions

Ahead of a vote, the Presenter will ask members to use the “raise hand” function to be unmuted if they wish to ask a question related to that specific resolution. The Presenter will also invite those present in person to ask any questions related to the resolution.

Once we have addressed any questions on the resolution, we will put the resolution to a vote. Those members present in person will vote via a show of hands; those attending online will be able to vote by using the “raise hand” function on Microsoft Teams at the appropriate time. We will announce the result of the vote immediately after the vote has taken place.
